The SMS Server Tools should run fine on any Unix and any Windows version.

• Uncomment the line OPTIONS += -D SOLARIS in src/Makefile

Windows Note

• Read Step by Step Instruction for Windows
• The name of the first serial port is /dev/com1.

Free BSD Note

• The name of the first serial port is /dev/cuaa0.
• If your serial Port has a ST16550A chipset you need to set an option in the kernel source: enable hardware handshake and larger FIFOs. Only works for ST16650A-compatible UARTs.
